Ego Proving Authenticity

Metaphorical Narrative

At first, you said no. You didn’t want it.

Then ego whispered: “Someone might be blocking you.” Suddenly, the game changes. You go from disinterest to burning effort — climbing walls, pushing doors, chasing a prize you never cared about. All just to prove no one could stop you.

The victory feels hollow. Because the whole chase was a fake show, written by ego, staged for an invisible audience.

Core Insight

Ego weaponizes the fear of being blocked. It tricks you into pretending you want something, just to prove authority. But that’s not freedom — it’s theatre.

Saturday Experiment

  1. When you feel the urge to prove, ask: Did I actually want this before the block appeared?
  2. If not, drop the chase.
  3. Return to your first clarity: I didn’t want it.

Sunday Reflection

In third person, describe a figure sweating in pursuit of a prize they never wanted, only to prove they weren’t blocked. Then describe them walking away, realizing the block was irrelevant.
