Metaphorical Narrative
Midnight.
The wall thuds, the car revs, voices rise.
Mind bristles, searching for meaning: disrespect, intrusion, insult.
Body stiffens.
Core Insight
Every human has cursed late-night noise. The real sting is rarely volume — it’s the story the mind attaches.
Proof Snapshot: Noise studies show perceived intent drives stress more than sound level. It’s meaning, not decibels, that fuels anger.
The break is refusing the story. Label it as “noise” — nothing more. The sound remains, but body and presence relax.
Identity Line: I forbid noise to claim meaning. Observer keeps the room.
Saturday Experiment
Next interruption, say aloud: “Noise. That’s all.”
Notice how tension shifts.
Sunday Reflection

What shifted when they removed the story?
How does identity change when they guard meaning as their own?
