Alter-Ego Ego Presence

Metaphorical Narrative

Behind the curtain, a shadow actor rehearses. They whisper lines, feeding you motives not your own. You walk on stage thinking it was your decision, but it was their script.

Core Insight

Ego is visible; alter-ego is sneaky. It speaks in borrowed motives — “do it like them,” “say it their way.” Harder to spot, yet more corrosive.

The liberation is simple: collapse the curtain. Starve the alter-ego by stripping away the stage itself. When there is no theatre, there is no shadow actor. Presence remains unfiltered.

Saturday Experiment

Catch one whisper today that says, “Do it for them” or “Do it like them.” Pause. Refuse to act on it. Do the act your way, even if small.

Sunday Reflection

Write: “They saw the shadow actor and cut the script.” What power did this release back into their presence?
