Metaphorical Narrative
You think you’ve hired an expert.
A tidy desk, thick glasses, a briefcase full of seriousness. This is your Fear Analyst — the one who studies the terrain ahead, finds the danger, and hands you the truth before you take a step.
At first, you admire the thoroughness. Each report is stamped with urgency:
– What if they hate you?
– What if you lose everything?
– What if this choice ruins your future?
The list grows, stretching from your front door to the horizon.
You never question it. You pay the invoices in attention and obedience. You believe the red stamps mean truth. Soon, every situation gets its own folder, filed neatly under worst possible outcome.
Then one day, you catch yourself doing it without the analyst. Your mind flips through the folders on its own, pulling the worst-case card for every possibility before you’ve even breathed. You don’t need the analyst anymore — you’ve become the analyst.
What started as protection has become a purpose-built fear-mongering campaign — and you are both the CEO and the audience.
Core Insight
Fear thrives when it’s institutionalised.
The moment you give fear an office, a process, and an authority stamp, it becomes a self-running business. You stop testing the validity of the reports. You just file them under truth and let them decide for you.
But fear is not an analyst. It’s an advertiser. And its only product is paralysis.
Saturday Experiment
Today, refuse to process the “fear reports” at all. When a fear statement lands, don’t investigate. Don’t argue. Just stamp it Rejected — no evidence provided and slide it into the shredder.
Watch what happens when fear realises the office has been closed without notice.
Sunday Reflection
Where in your life has a “Fear Department” been running unchecked?
What would shift if the analyst’s desk was cleared out permanently, and your mind operated only on forward motion?
