Subconscious Interrupts
Metaphorical Narrative
From the corner of the room, a shadowy voice begins: “This means disaster. That means rejection. Tomorrow you will regret everything.”
The stories sound convincing, but if you shine a light, the narrator disappears. It was never a person — just scraps stitched together into noise.
Core Insight
The subconscious often plays “radio dramas” from fragments of past fears. They feel vivid, but they aren’t prophecy. Shining EF attention reveals them as stitched illusions.
EF is your executive function.
Saturday Experiment
- When the inner narrator starts, say: “Shadow story.”
- Write down exactly what was said.
- Ask: “Is this evidence or imagination?”
Sunday Reflection
- What shadow stories ran today?
- How did they sound once written on paper?
- Did the voice weaken under light?
